San Antonio-based group INOHA composed of lead vocals-rhythm guitarist Keanu Bicol, lead guitarist Gavin Gonzalez, bassist Christian Young, and drummer Ricky Juarez hit the road en route from their home base of San Antonio, TX. The band arrived in the heart of Houston, a venue well known to the Houstonian population, The Secret Group, as a part of their second to last show in “INOHA in Texas” a series of headlining shows dedicated to the state of Texas. While the venue was on the smaller side, it was nonetheless filled to its maximum occupancy with eager fans wanting to see what their fellow Texans have to offer.

As Inoha took the stage there was a loud cheer from the crowd but no response back from the band, as the light dimmed, Keanu’s guitar began to sing, and the crowd once again roared with cheers. As the singing began fans knew this was “Murder at the peach tree” a song featured on their 2023 EP “The Next Stop”. While the song had a very energetic intro on the studio release, INOHA started the song right after the intro, putting a unique twist on their own song by slowing the tempo. The newly arranged song ended in explosive fashion, the same energy heard from the studio release intro, fans we're now ready for more INOHA.
With no time wasted, the second song began. The crowd erupted as the iconic riff from fan-favorite “Naomi” began to play. The crowd was ecstatic jumping and chanting following in the band's lead, it was not until Keanu began to sing that the crowd settled. The chorus was simple but infectious, ("Naomi's got me always coming down”) could be heard chanted across the view as Keanu and Gavin sang. Soon Gavin took over the vocals completely, the mood had changed, A rising guitar strum could be heard as the crowd chanted once again ("Naomi's got me always coming down”). First a few voices, then the entire venue chanted until INOHA finally exploded back, triggering another wave of jumping and moshing. The same words were repeated over and over until Keanu's guitar could be heard cutting through every voice, fans cheered as Keanu's guitar solo came to an end.
With only 2 songs in, INOHA was about to show Houston they meant business. A fast almost eerie sounding riff played through Keanu's and Gavin's amp, the drums and bass followed suit building and explosive intro. The drop finally came with flashing lights and an up beat rhythm the crowd seemed pleased. The song was “Bullet Boy”, a single released by INOHA back in early 2023. As fans remained enamored with the music, Christian slowly turned as he and Keanu locked eyes. The music stopped as Christian began to play his groovy bass line, the band joined back in while Christian’s bass line was still taking the lead. Chanting continued to be heard across the venue as the entirety of INOHA was jumping in place to the rhythmic beat. A howl was let out courtesy of Keanu as the song began to break down. In quick succession, a solo began to ring out as the band continued to play. Keanu could be seen front and center shredding his guitar as the band collects back and repeats the chorus. (“You still have one more bullet to go”), fitting lyrics as INOHA finally reaches the conclusion to “Bullet Boy”.
Finally, after what felt like a roller coaster of emotions, INOHA finally greets the crowd. “What’s up Houston?!” Keanu shouted, friends and fans alike roared back as they knew INOHA would give them a night they would not forget.
