The Austin Asian American Film Festival closed out its 2025 programming with a packed house at ArtUS Co on Nov. 20, where three Asian American musicians premiered new music videos and shared their creative processes.

AAAFF has expanded from its roots as a volunteer-run festival into one of Austin's key organizations for Asian and Asian American storytelling through film and media. Beyond its flagship annual festival, the nonprofit now runs year-round programming—community screenings, educational initiatives, and resources for AANHPI filmmakers. The Nov. 20 showcase marked the organization's final event of the year.

On the Horizon: MV Showcase brought together Promqueen, ttt, and Maru Haru for an evening that blurred the line between listening party and film screening. The event drew a steady crowd of friends, loved ones, and artists to the nonprofit arts space on Austin’s east side, where attendees cycled between watching the premieres and hearing directly from the artists about their work.

Promqueen debuted the music video for "Good Morning," a new track released Nov. 21, while ttt premiered new visuals for his already-released song "I Forgot" and Maru Haru screened the music video for "Golden", also previously released. Before each screening, the artists introduced their work, sharing what the songs meant to them and the stories behind filming the videos.

The screen lit up with three different visions. promqueen's choreography drew smiles from the crowd, while ttt. offered unexpected imagery of a desk planted in a lake. Maru Haru's "Golden" carried a warmer, laid-back visual that matched the song's relaxed groove. Each premiere showed the range of what these artists were working with—different sounds, different approaches, different stories to tell.

The event concluded with a Q&A session where Promqueen, ttt, and Maru Haru fielded questions from the audience, joined by Monica Silverio, who directed ttt's music video. The conversation gave attendees a closer look at the collaborative process behind their work.
