Send Noods. Diet Starts Tomorrow. Me-OW.

Bold, unfiltered catch phrases and line art of smiling noodles fill the wall of a cozy and bright Thai Asian fusion restaurant in Farmer’s Branch, Texas. Red Stix Street Food is, from the furnishing to the menu simultaneously thoughtful yet, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The chair backs are custom ordered to double as bag hangers, a cutout of the bar manager’s face taped to the ice machine, and the menu is a one-page flavor tour of Asia. Inspired by her Laos and Thai origins, and married with her diverse experiences, Red Stix Street Food is Chef Uno’s homage to her many lives.

We started off with a Red Stix’s classic - duck fat fried rice. A savory rice dish sprinkled with Chinese sausage and veggies, coated in luscious duck fat and topped with handfuls of scallions and a gooey sunny side up egg - you truly can’t go wrong with duck fat fried rice. (Note: if sensitive to spice, ask for no chili topping)

Alongside the rice, we ordered the tamarind pad thai - inspired by Chef Uno’s mother’s home cooking. The rice noodles were perfectly chewy and coated in a tangy tamarind sauce. The flavor was balanced with a nice crunch from the crushed peanuts and freshness from the bean sprouts. To top it off, a charred chicken skewer glimmered on the dish.

Lastly, (and our favorite) we had the warm and creamy tom kha gai soup with thin rice noodles. The soup was deep and complex with the sweet nuttiness of the coconut milk layered with the bite of lemongrass and warmth of chicken and veggies. It was a generous portion of noodles, hearty soup, and love.

Red Stix Street Food is a bright spot for friends and family to enjoy traditional meals with a twist.

Red Stix is located in 13050 Bee St, Suite 140 Farmers Branch, TX.
