Austin, TX - The Asian Season ATX vendor market at this year's Austin Studio Tour brought together a wide mix of AANHPI creators, each offering their own expression of art, craft, and community. From illustrated prints to dog treats and cookies, vendors filled the space with color and personality.

Held on Nov. 15, the market brought in a variety of Asian American vendors across Austin. There was KeepAustinSigns, a one-man business run by Sherwin Tibayan, which sold prints showcasing Austin’s memorable signs and skies. Nearby was ChewingGangATX, run by Louise and Griselda, which sold homemade dog treats. At another table, visitors discovered Unicorn Snacky Snacks, a Filipino, Japanese, Mexican, and Italian–owned business offering gourmet, protein-packed cookies.

The market drew a steady crowd throughout the six-hour event, with attendees browsing booths and the curated gallery, which gave visual artists dedicated wall space, featuring work from local artists like Veeny Revilla, whose art celebrates Filipino culture through inventive visual wordplay, human figures arranged to form text that spells out phrases and dishes. Visitors paused to decipher the clever compositions, discovering words like “adobo” or “halo-halo”.

The energy of the event reflects how far Asian Season ATX has come since its founding in Feb. 2024. Andy Dun, an artist, and Cedric Silan, a baker, both working as vendors, created the organization after noticing that AANHPI creators saw more engagement when dedicated spaces were allocated to them. Thus, Asian Season ATX was born to give AANHPI creators a dedicated space to showcase their work.

Now run entirely by volunteers, Asian Season ATX has become a home for artists and makers across Austin. Andy serves as Creative Director, curating galleries for every single event at the Austin Studio Tour, his selections showcasing visual art across multiple mediums. Cedric serves as Executive Director, handling logistics with the markets and venues. Their work is supported by board members Joi Conti, Gaby Cantos, and Ngan Hoang, along with an expanding team of volunteers.

In under two years, the organization has hosted an impressive slate of events across Austin, expanding to 52 vendors and 20 plus artists in its second annual Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month Kickoff. From gallery shows like "Look Mama, We Made It" to partnerships on mental health art exhibitions, and vendor markets like these, Asian Season ATX continues building the dedicated space that AANHPI creators have long needed.
