“Tegami” – Mei Semones
Based in Brooklyn, Mei Semones blends Japanese and English lyrics with jazz guitar and chamber-pop influences. “Tegami,” which means “letter” in Japanese, was released in 2023 as part of her debut EP Tsukino. The track showcases her background in classical guitar and jazz performance, and it's a great introduction to her bilingual, heartfelt style.

“Dancing With You” – Jane Remover
Jane Remover (formerly known as dltzk) is a genre-shifting artist originally associated with digicore and hyperpop. “Dancing With You” comes from her 2022 album Frailty, where she distanced herself from glitch-heavy production and leaned more into alternative and indie rock textures. The release marked a new phase of maturity in her songwriting.
“Breathe Onto Me” – Wisp
Wisp is a solo project from the U.S. that gained attention in 2023 for contributing to the shoegaze revival among younger audiences on platforms like TikTok. “Breathe Onto Me” was released independently and circulated heavily through streaming playlists, helping to build her name in the growing online dream pop community.

“Sailing” – Ahn Ye Eun
Ahn Ye Eun gained national attention as a finalist on K-pop Star 5 with her unique, storytelling-based compositions. “Sailing” was released in 2022 and features her trademark theatrical tone, often inspired by Korean folklore and traditional aesthetics. She writes and composes her own songs, maintaining a distinct voice in South Korea’s indie scene.
“ALICE” – Peggy
Peggy is a lesser-known artist rising within Korea’s indie R&B circuit. “ALICE,” released in 2023, was part of a series of singles that began gaining traction for their airy production and themes of identity and self-searching. While she remains relatively under-the-radar internationally, Peggy’s work has been featured on smaller curation platforms like Seoul Community Radio.

“Fabled Fabler - Version” – TetraCalyx
TetraCalyx is a Chinese vocal unit best known for their contributions to the Arknights video game soundtrack. “Fabled Fabler - Version” was released in 2023 and features symphonic elements blended with electronic production. The group’s members are trained vocalists who often contribute to anime and game OSTs, making them a crossover name in C-pop and fan culture.

“When the Day is Done” – Grentperez
Grentperez, a Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter, first broke out through YouTube covers before releasing original music. “When the Day is Done” came out in 2022, part of a series of singles that reflect his laid-back, acoustic-pop sensibility. His influences include bossa nova, soul, and 2000s pop — all of which can be traced in his songwriting.
“Hello” – Furui Riho
Furui Riho is a Japanese R&B artist known for combining jazz instrumentation with modern pop and funk. “Hello” came out in 2022 and reflects her clean production style and strong sense of groove. She’s part of a new wave of Japanese singer-songwriters bridging Western R&B with native pop structures.

“Cinnamon” – CNMN
CNMN (read as “Cinnamon”) is a lo-fi pop artist based in Asia, with much of their presence rooted in Bandcamp and DIY releases. “Cinnamon” was released in 2023 and features a minimalist structure with straightforward vocals. They remain relatively anonymous, adding to their mystique in the online underground pop circuit.
“MARS” – TWICE
“MARS” is a B-side track from TWICE’s 2023 album Ready to Be. The song shows a more ambient, synth-heavy sound than their usual bright, performance-based pop. As one of South Korea’s top girl groups under JYP Entertainment, TWICE often experiments with B-sides to showcase different sonic directions for fans.

“Sorry for My Late Reply” – MEMI
MEMI is an indie-pop solo act originally known through SoundCloud and Twitter. This track, released in 2023, is one of their more polished studio efforts following a string of demo-style releases. The song gained niche attention through online fan communities drawn to its lyrical honesty and conversational tone.
“Dial 143” – jomm
jomm is a Filipino indie artist who emerged from online music-sharing spaces like SoundCloud. “Dial 143” was released in 2022 and references early pager code for “I love you.” The song helped him gain traction with Gen Z listeners interested in soft-spoken, confessional music.
Julieta
“ghosts” – Highvyn
Highvyn is a relatively new name in ambient-adjacent electronic music. “ghosts” was released independently in 2023 and showcases their ability to build space-focused production using just a few layers. Though still emerging, their work has found a following among fans of lowercase and atmospheric pop.
“Scott and Zelda” – BIBI
BIBI is a South Korean singer-songwriter under Tiger JK’s FeelGhood Music label. Known for her raw lyrics and bold imagery, “Scott and Zelda” was released in 2022 and draws on the real-life tragedy of the Fitzgeralds as a metaphor for volatile relationships. It’s one of her more narrative-driven songs, reflecting her acting background as well.

“SEESAW” – TWICE
“SEESAW” was released in 2024 on TWICE’s 13th mini-album With YOU-th. It continues their trend of mature, emotionally-driven B-sides, contrasting dynamic synthwork with lyrics that reflect imbalance in relationships. The track stands out for its layered harmonies and reflective tone, further showing TWICE’s growth beyond their early bubblegum pop roots.
“Why is She Still Here?” – Renee Rapp
Broadway alum Renee Rapp transitioned into pop music with her debut album Snow Angel in 2023. “Why is She Still Here?” is one of the record’s most emotionally direct tracks, touching on jealousy and inner conflict. It marked a breakout moment for her as a songwriter with both theatrical and modern pop sensibilities.
