Ivri at the Paper Tiger

Ivri began her musical journey in the lo-fi scene, quickly gaining recognition for her soft, atmospheric soundscapes that resonated deeply within the SoundCloud community. Her dreamy, melancholic style caught the attention of fellow artists, many of whom sampled her tracks to create ethereal, emotionally driven music. One of her most notable successes, Tower of Memories—a song she never intended to release—unexpectedly went viral on TikTok, becoming an overnight sensation.

Since then, Ivri has continued to evolve her sound, blending lo-fi aesthetics with elements of indie rock and experimental production. Her music feels like a dream anchored by glitchy textures, hypnotic vocals, and introspective monologues that evoke the sensation of floating between sleep and consciousness. Ivri’s genre-bending approach creates an immersive sonic experience that feels both intimate and otherworldly—something entirely her own.

The Theory of You Tour was announced in early August, featuring openers Mage Tears, Dusty, Computer Kill, and Land of Valen. On September 19, Ivri performed at San Antonio’s Paper Tiger, with Dusty opening the night. This being Ivri’s first tour, San Antonio marked her first-ever sold-out show. A noticeable line formed outside the venue as fans eagerly waited to enter. Before the show, fans gathered to greet Ivri, taking photos, chatting, and gifting her handmade bracelets, which she wore on stage that night.

A dream-like monologue began to play, setting the stage with a small screen projecting psychedelic visuals displaying Ivri's name. The crowd patiently waited as the lights dimmed and the LEDs flared. As Ivri stepped onto the stage, the audience erupted in cheers, and the first song of the set began.

“I don’t know if you know who I am,” Ivri said. But before she could continue, a fan quickly shouted back, “We know who you are, that’s why your show is sold out!” The crowd cheered at this statement while Ivri giggled.

She went on to share that recently she had been trying to change her style a bit, feeling free to do whatever she wanted. “The next song I’m going to play is the first indie rock track I ever released,” she said. “I’d been relying on software effects for a long time, but this one is different. It’s called No Way Out.”

The crowd swayed gently from side to side, heads nodding in rhythm with the music. The world felt small, like nothing else mattered. Ivri’s hair caught the light with every subtle movement, glowing softly as she sang. The audience sang back to her, their voices blending with hers.

To change the pace of the set, Ivri launched into a cover of Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) by Deftones. Many immediately recognized the song, sending the crowd into a full-blown mosh pit. Fans pushed and moved wildly to the rhythm, embracing the sudden burst of chaos. After the song, Ivri checked in, making sure everyone was safe and ready to continue.

Throughout the night, the crowd reciprocated the energy given by Ivri, possibly making it one of her most interactive shows yet. For her first tour, she was well received with overwhelming love and support from fans. The San Antonio show marked a major milestone, as this was Ivri’s first sold-out performance. Though the show took place in the venue’s smaller room, the energy from the crowd made the space feel much larger. In her final moments, Ivri asked San Antonio if she could take a picture with them to have something as a memory of the unforgettable night. Fans eagerly posed, shouting their love and gratitude. With a big smile, Ivri responded:

“Thank you for being such an amazing crowd. I have to come back!”
“I love you so much, bye!”
