Based in Washington, D.C Glitterer a band often described as post-hardcore, shoegaze with a mix of synth and emo angst, announced that they were hitting the road mid January. A few months after their 10 track album ERER released late november in 2025.
Anticipating the album, the single “Stainless Steel” dropped a month before quickly gaining traction as Ned Russin’s previous works held a strong influence. While it's said that Glitterer was a solo project, it ultimately became something more.
On the 12th of February, Glitterer made its fourth stop in Texas. This time performing in Austin's 29th Ballroom. A venue directly adjacent from “The Drag” near UT Campus, surrounded by a variety of food trucks. Inside the venue, a large Disco ball hung over the center of the pit. While the merch table was tucked in the back where the outdoor seating area could be found.
Upon entering, groups of people huddled over each other holding plastic cups gearing up for the night. Others lined up at the merch table calling dips to beat the post show merch rush. As showtime approached the front of the stage began to fill. As the first set began the lights dimmed and people rushed over from the bar to get a good spot for the night. The openers set quickly went by with 15 minutes in between each set. Almost as if on a time crunch which is unusual for this venue.

On stage Glitterer’s set began with high energy meeting the crowd's expectations. Front row bystanders headbanging, as Ned frantically paced back and forward. While letting out high kicks and jumps in rhythm of the song. Keyboardist Nicole Dao was seen swaying back and forward as every chord hit the speakers. Letting flow state take over as the track “Remind Me” gained traction. Progressing to the chorus, a quick but notable rift that couldn't be missed. With subtle distortion perfectly carrying it over to the next lyric.
Taking a quick break between the set to thank the openers “Graham Hut” and “Prize Horse” for opening up the stage and joining them on tour. Right before jumping back into another fan favorite song, “Somebody”. Emotional crowd members fist pumping and singing along to the lyric
“I know who pulled us apart/ I saw your watermark / It was there from the start”
Watching in a fiery fury as Ned sung over the lyric in a determined tone, complimenting his signature grunge vocals. As the song's iconic distorted bassline progressed in a fast paced consistent feel over the chorus.
At the end of the night, a euphoric and exhilarating feeling flooded over the atmosphere. Coming from witnessing Glitterer’s performance in promotion to the ERER album. With many more tour dates on the way, this was just the beginning of Glitterer’s ground shaking set in Austin.
