San Antonio, TX - In a small garage, performing in San Antonio's Paper Tiger. The musical trio Clarion, all the way from Los Angeles, California, took the stage as part of their tour alongside Mexican Slum Rats. The crowd, packed and hyped from the previous opener, Niis. Who set the mood for moshers and headbangers.
Clarion opened with “Taxidermy”, a shoegaze song beginning with immaculate riffs accompanied by dreamy soft vocals. The song comes straight out of their first-ever EP, which dropped last year (2024). Shortly after, “Human Attire” began blaring from the speakers. A huge push pit opened up, which left little to no space in the already cramped garage. This pushed headbangers to the front while moshers jumped and pumped their fists up in the air to the rhythm of the song.
Later in the set, Clarion blessed the crowd with two unreleased singles, “Tetra” and “Blue Fairy”
“Would you guys like to hear our next single?” the vocalist asked, met with a few cheers from the front.
“I’ll ask one more time, do you want to hear our next single?!”

This time, the crowd erupted with enthusiasm, ready for more.
Clarion did not disappoint. As soon as their new single kicked off, the crowd instantly began headbanging and jumping in rhythm with the song. While the official release date remains unannounced, this track is definitely one to watch. With more shoegaze-inspired alternative songs on the horizon, Clarion is clearly building momentum.
Finishing off the set with “Hello Juliette”, one of their most-streamed tracks on Spotify, with 9 million streams. Immediately, people pumped up their fists and jumped at the start of the song, singing along to the lyrics. Others stood rooted in place, headbanging and recording on their phones to capture the moment.
Before exiting the stage, Clarion thanked everyone for coming out and for feeding them so much energy throughout the set.
“Who’s ready for Mexican Slum Rats!?” they shouted. Everyone jumped and cheered in excitement, ready to mosh even harder for what was still to come.
